This program allows healthy food be available for low-income individuals.
The Food Stamp Program is for US citizens and some aliens who are admitted for permanent residency may qualify. Individuals who are unemployed, able-able bodied and people with no dependent children has now been given time limitions on benefits.

THE FOOD STAMP PROGRAM IS FOR:
-Households whose bank account is not over $2000 in countable resources. House and lot are not counted. Resource value of vehicles owned by household members are determined by special rules.
-The gross monthly income of most households must be 130 percent or less of the Federal poverty guidelines.
-Adult who are able-bodied who has met certain work requirements.
-Individuals whose net monthly income must be 100 percent or less of Federal poverty guideline.
-All members of the household who has provided their Social Security number.
***The Office on Management and Budget have established these Federal poverty guidelines. The Depertment of Health and Human Resources are responsible for the annual update of these guidelines.***
